PIT Group will take an active part in the Movin’On Event

Montréal will soon host the second edition of Movin’On, the World Summit on Sustainable Mobility. This major event, presented by Michelin, gathers industry and government stakeholders in sustainable mobility with regard to public and freight transport. Again this year, PIT Group is proud to participate in the event and be an important part of the program.

The 2018 edition, under the theme Bringing global, smart, sustainable and multimodal mobility to life, aims to share knowledge, foster discussions on future prospects, and explore areas of collaboration to facilitate the development of sustainable mobility. With its proven experience in the development of sustainable mobility systems with key industry players from Canada and abroad, PIT Group will be an active contributor to the event.

Among other things, participants will have the opportunity to hear Yves Provencher, Director, Market and Business Development, Transportation Group, give his presentation entitled Digital transforming the first/last km: Smart, modular, four-season microtransit solution. Yves Provencher will discuss the solution proposed by PIT Group and its partners with regard to flexible, fast, and efficient supply systems to address the lack of flexibility in public transport systems. This presentation is part of a series of mini-conferences entitled Clips de mobilité durable Montréal, under the aegis of the city of Montréal.

Thursday, May 31, 14h00–15h30 – Balcon de Propulsion Québec

PIT Group was also invited, as part of the Balcon de Propulsion Québec, to take part in a joint presentation with Transport Canada under the theme Heavy-duty trucks platooning. PIT Group has developed expertise in this type of convoy (or “platooning”) traffic as part of its trials on fuel consumption of a truck platooning system performed on a series of three trucks. Results from recent trials will be presented, in addition to a discussion on the emergence of these convoys on our roads and their impact on the everyday life of citizens.

Finally, all participants are invited to visit PIT Group inside the Innovation Centre, a unique, collaborative space where event partners get the opportunity to present innovations of tomorrow’s mobility. PIT Group’s representatives will be on site all along the event space. Among other things, the booth will display information on FPInnovations’ Forestry 4.0 initiative, which aims to assist contractors in the forest sector value chain be more reactive and resilient by adopting connected technologies.
