FPInnovations’ PIT Group celebrated 10 years of ground-breaking research on technologies that promote energy efficiency in the transportation industry across North America, at a reception in downtown Montreal attended by collaborators, industry leaders, clients, and PIT Group members.
The event took place at the LEED Platinum-certified Centre for Sustainable Development and was attended by upwards of 75 guests who joined FPInnovations President and CEO, Stéphane Renou; Vice President Industry and Member Relations, Jean Hamel; Senior Director, Fibre Supply, Denis Cormier, and Industry Advisor, Marc Trudeau, in recognizing the group’s achievements over the past decade.
The evening was hosted by Hamel who welcomed the crowd and kept the evening rolling. Cormier thanked current and former employees who placed PIT Group on the map and raised the bar of excellence. Trudeau highlighted the many collaborative projects throughout the years, which helped build PIT Group’s solid industry reputation. He also mentioned PIT Group’s new collaboration with ABB to develop a new, fully electric, emissions-free urban mobility service, and Propulsion Québec was thanked for their longstanding support.
Trudeau also paid tribute to the Centre de formation du transport routier de Saint-Jérôme (CFTR) and the Centre de formation en transport Charlesbourg (CFTC) as exceptional members and partners who have allocated their resources through the years to PIT Group’s signature Energotest trials, recognized in the trucking industry as the gold standard for fuel economy tests. Director, CFTR Saint-Jérôme, Danielle Leblanc, accepted two awards on behalf of the organizations.
Former PIT Group Director, now Senior Director, Business Development at The Lion Electric Company, Yves Provencher, took the microphone during the evening to say how proud he is of the group’s success. He looked back on PIT Group’s journey to become the North American leader in neutral, third-party efficiency testing of transportation technologies.
The reception was held in collaboration with ACQ, Continental Tires, Counteract Balancing Beads, Cummins Canada, Énergir, the Innovative Vehicle Institute, ISAAC Instruments, NewCOM, PMG Technologies, Transtex, ABB, and with the support of Propulsion Québec.
