Guest of Honour and Keynote Luncheon speaker Alexandre Taillefer, to headline a diverse program for fleet managers.
MONTREAL, QUEBEC, February 27, 2017 – Newcom Media Quebec, publisher of Transport Routier magazine, and PIT Group, an organization specializing in truck-related technological trials and fleet advisory services, is pleased to announce the program line-up for Sommet canadien sur l’entretien de flotte (SCEF) to be held in Montreal on April 19th on the sidelines of ExpoCam.
The 2017 edition of the SCEF offers rich programming that will help fleet managers better understand and prepare for the challenges of tomorrow. The conference offers a workshop on connected driving, a practice of providing drivers with embedded communication systems for increased safety. More than a discussion on technology, the presentation proposes three approaches to support drivers by giving them better visibility on their performance. Connectivity is also addressed from a maintenance perspective, while software tools allow managers to remotely diagnose and obtain a wealth of data on the maintenance and repair of their trucks.
Participants will also have the opportunity to attend a panel discussion on cooperative platoon leadership. This revolutionary approach, aimed at generating fuel savings by using configurations of aerodynamic devices and distance between vehicles of the same convoy, is still in the exploratory phase. Panelists will have the opportunity to express their views on the actual benefits of these convoys, as well as the legal and administrative requirements that will result.
The highlight of the conference is undoubtedly the presence of our guest of honor Alexandre Taillefer who, after having revolutionized the taxi industry in Montreal, now wishes to apply his successful formula to the freight industry. Mr. Taillefer is one of the most influential personalities in Québec’s business world and one of the greatest visionaries in the field of electric transportation.
“SCEF 2017 offers participants the most exciting and diverse programming on cutting-edge topics that will help fleet managers position themselves on up-to-date topics for the trucking industry,” says Yves Provencher. “SCEF optimizes participant’s time by allowing them to attend a technical workshop (SCEF) as well as ExpoCam, therefore maximizing time away from the office.”
The SCEF is supported by the Quebec Trucking Association, the Québec Trucking Technical Committee and the Société des superintendants de transport de Québec. The conference will be held in Montreal on April 19, 2017, the day before the opening of the ExpoCam National Truck Show.
